Qualifications needed to get into housing..
This depends upon the path you’re looking to take, but the main thing to remember is that the sector recruits for attitude rather than actual skills. If you’re keen, hard-working and want a job that makes a difference, then you’ll get all the training you need to succeed.
If you have GCSE English and Maths or equivalent, then you’ll have the opportunity to undertake a whole host of NVQs. If you have A levels or equivalent, then it’s likely that you’ll be offered the chance to do a HNC in Housing Studies or possibly an NVQ/SVQ to Level 4. The HNC can be done as a day-release at college or by distance learning with the Chartered Institute of Housing. The NVQ is a work-based qualification.
