Testimonials.
By working around the school clock, Manjit Gill is there when her kids need her most.
Manjit has negotiated start and finish times that allow her to drop her girls off at school in the morning a pick them up at home-time. She gets into the office at 9.30 am (school-run traffic depending) and leaves at 3pm. However, her team can contact whenever they need to. She makes up this time in the evenings and at the weekends.
Having more ‘me-time’ has brought all sorts of benefits. Of course, she sees the children more, but it’s also enabled her to take up a new hobby: Bollywood Dancing. Getting fit and spending quality time the kids - who could ask for more? But, don’t just take our word for it. Manjit never misses an opportunity to tell other parents about the great work/life balance initiatives available at Bromford Housing Group.
“I work once the kids are in bed and while my husband watches golf, so I don't feel like I'm missing out on my girls growing up or taking my husband away from his first love! This working arrangement has meant my children can go to tennis club and drama workshops. I’ve also managed to build up a network of other school mums who I can call on to collect the girls if I can’t. If it wasn’t for
flexible-working I would never have made these friends.”Or as her daughter Sophie puts it:
"It's great when Mum picks us up from school just like my friend’s Mums. Can she do it every day?"
