A dog day afternoon.
16/04/07
What better way to launch 1001careers.com, the online careers centre set up by the housing sector for the housing sector, than by getting all those who've made it possible together for a spot of champagne lunch? Invite a few Dalmatians along too that's how!
Meeting at Bromford Housing Group's head office in Wolverhampton, the afternoon's events began with the dreaded photo shoot. And once the photographer had proved the old adage: never work with children or animals, it was on to lunch for a well-earned glass of champers.

And as everyone whetted their whistles, it was with the satisfaction that for the first time a true reflection of what it's like working in modern housing was out there in the public arena. And this could only have a positive impact upon communities right across the UK.
"A career in housing is exciting and very rewarding but often people don't know it exists. They fall into it by accident and discover the fantastic development opportunities when they get here. The pay is equivalent to most jobs in the public sector, with flexible working hours and good pension schemes. And the work is varied and exciting.
"Apart from being one of the more surreal moments in my working life, the 1001careers.com launch-day meant we could finally get this message across to more people."
