Good causes get cash boost from Dane.

Dane Housing has just launched its 2008 sponsorship scheme which awards money to local community groups in need of support.

Last year's programme helped to fund a wide range of activities that aim to make life better for residents of Congleton, Cheshire and the surrounding areas. These included a fishing competition for young people, theatre workshops for schoolchildren, dance tuition for inhabitants of rural villages, and a Christmas party for older people.

Grants of up to £300 will be awarded this year. Dane Housing strives to spread support as fairly as possible among the community groups and they carefully consider each application.
