More than 1,000 new affordable homes are to be built in the West Midlands each year by a powerful new group of housing providers.
Ten organisations, led by West Mercia Housing Group, have joined forces to form Spectrum. They've come together for one main reason. And that's to pool their resources and become the number one partner for key West Midland housing and regeneration organisations such as the Housing Corporation, English Partnerships, Advantage West Midlands and individual local authorities.
Other members of Spectrum are Advance Housing Association, Bromsgrove District Housing Trust, Cara Irish Housing Association, Heantun Housing Association, Herefordshire Housing, Nehemiah UCHA, Severnside Housing, South Staffordshire Housing Association and Whitefriars Housing Group. Between them, they manage more than 46,000 homes.
Kathryn Robb, Business Development Manager for Spectrum, enthused:
"The strength and expertise we have within this partnership are unrivalled in the region. Our aim is to deliver 1,000 new affordable homes per annum across the West Midlands."
"The track-records of each organisation, plus the ambition and scale of the consortium, mean we can tackle the difficulties surrounding the shortfall of affordable housing head on."
"Spectrum will lead the way in developing and delivering diversity and high quality affordable homes."
Over the next 15 years they'll deliver a total of 3,000 new and affordable homes over in north Solihull alone. All of which are vital to the economy and prosperity of the entire West Midlands
